This year for New Years Eve Love in the Fire partnered up with Lucent Dossier and Isaiah Martin owner of Ultra-Fi Entertainment to bring the Thompson Hotel in Playa Del Carmen Mexico a night they will never forget!

Thompson Hotel:

5 floors up above Playa’s famous Quinta Avenida we transformed the poolside into a haven of high energy perfomances and interactive human art. The Thompson is always known for its luxurious suits and chic boutique style no matter what city you visit. Here in Playa is no different with their beach house bohemian vistas, 30,000 sq/ft rooftop playground, and the 360 degree city and beach view there is no questions that it will soon be the centerpiece of social nightlife for this beautiful beach town. Performances with Lucent Dossier:

As for performances the night could not have been better. We tantalized the senses with multiple costumes ranging from intergalactic tribal, sexy maids, giant butterflies, water headresses, mermaids, giant tree people, and gorgeous contortionists in floating pool spheres.

Starting off with just ambience and using the performers as interactive art we filled the elevator and lobby with stilt walkers so the guest immediately knew they would be immersed in performance.

 Once they made it up to the pool area they were escorted to the party by french mades tickling them with feathers and whispering sweet nothings into their ears.

Walking past the pool one could not help but notice the beautiful mermaids with their long alluring hair swimming the distance of the party covered only by sea shells and luring guests into the pool. As we got closer to the midnight countdown we also began our high energy fire shows on the main stage built over top of the pool.

Love in the Fire joined by members of Lucent Dossier mesmerized the guests with fire performances utilizing double staff, contact staff, rope dart, palm torches, poi, fire eating, fire fans, and dragon staff! With fireworks blasting over the bay, pyrotechnics shooting off the roof, and world famous hip hop artists Nas counting down for New Years the guests were mesmerized from all angles.

Tulum Adventures:

After the show was over we packed up our gear and jumped in a van for an hour long trip down to beautiful Tulum to unite with the other half of the Lucent Dossier tribe as Isaiah Martin had organized an amazing set of performances and music line-up at the enchanting Ahua beach bungalow resort right in the heart of Tulum. We got there just in time for Isaiah’s DJ set and danced our night away into the sunrise of the new year. We performed one more impromptu fire set right on the beach with some fire staff passing between Samantha and Lester. We even experienced a great downpour that washed 2015 away and brought in a clean and fresh 2016!

Vacation Time!!!

Once everything was said and done we had the opportunity to spend the next 4 days traveling around the Tulum and Playa del Carmen area experiencing all that Mexico has to offer. We swam with the sea turtles exploring the second largest coral reef in the world and even snorkled next to a barracuda . We visited the ruins of Tulum (the spiritual center of the mayan people) and climbed the tallest pyramid on the yucatan peninsula named Coba. One of our favorite experiences was swimming in the crystal clear water of Mexico’s famous Cenotes (underwater caves). There was something completely refreshing yet utterly intimidating knowing that these caves traveled for hundreds of miles under the ground connecting in a maze of waterways throughout the peninsula. Amazing!!!
